Christ Fellowship Helps Hondurans Fight Hunger

The generous will themselves be blessed,
for they share their food with the poor.- Proverbs 22:9

The annual Make a Meal Event took place on Saturday at Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach Gardens, and It was a glorious affair.

Hundreds of people gathered together to make meal kits for Hondurans
who are suffering from hunger. Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Latin America, and nearly half of its population lives below the poverty line.

What we’re seeing in Honduras represents not only a lack of basic needs but also compromised immune systems – and in some cases – even death due to malnutrition.

The spirit of God was in the air as people prepared the meals, and the willingness to help this poor country was everywhere.

Becky Kyle, Director of Missions at Christ Fellowship, said: “I’m delighted
that so many people took part in this event. Over 600,000 meal kits were assembled today. Making a meal really makes a difference.”

She continued: “What we’re seeing in Honduras represents not only a lack of basic needs but also compromised immune systems – and in some cases – even death due to malnutrition. We have an opportunity to help one less person from going hungry.”

The meals were carefully prepared in hygienic and sanitary conditions. People wore gloves and hair nets. The meal is a fortified mix of vegetables, rice, soy, and vitamins. It tastes good, too. The kits will be sent to churches in Honduras and distributed to those in need.

For the event, Christ Fellowship partnered with the Convoy of Hope, a faith-based nonprofit organization that feeds 465,000 kids across 26 different countries on a daily basis.

Christ Fellowship is a multi-site church in South Florida that serves communities throughout the state. Their mission is to help you get to know God and discover your purpose in life. They believe that church isn’t just a building you walk into, it’s a family you can belong to.

This was on full display Saturday at the Make a Meal Event. It was a happy family of people helping other people all in the name of God.
